Liverpool's Champions League victory parade plans revealed as Reds return to Merseyside

The streets of Liverpool will be a sea of red on Sunday as thousands of supporters welcome back the Reds' heroes.

Jurgen Klopp's side are champions of Europe after defeating Spurs 2-0 in Madrid on Saturday night as the Reds boss earned his first piece of silverware at the club.

The Reds boss had fallen short on three previous occasions during his time at , however, his side showed their class and delivered on the big stage.

The squad are due to arrive back on on Sunday afternoon as they parade the trophy on an open-top bus through the city, ending with a celebration on the waterfront.

The parade is set to start at 4pm BST, with the bus journeying through Allerton Maze, Queens Drive, Mill Bank, West Derby Road, Islington, Leeds Street and The Strand.

The parade will finish at Blundell Street in the city centre, with the whole route expected to be packed with tens of thousands of supporters, akin to their celebrations after Istanbul in 2005.

gave Liverpool an early break-through after converting a second-minute penalty at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, whilst struck late on to seal the Reds' victory.
