Liverpool kick-start their 2020/21 Champions League campaign on Wednesday night as they travel to Amsterdam to take on Ajax.
The fixture comes four days after the Reds’ Merseyside derby draw against Everton, an afternoon where everything went against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Liverpool saw a last-minute winner incorrectly ruled out by VAR, while knocks to Thiago and Joel Matip were compounded by the season-ending injury sustained by Virgil van Dijk.
But there’s no time for the Reds to feel sorry for themselves as they head into a busy period, starting with a tricky clash against Erik ten Hag’s side.
The hope will be Liverpool can channel their disappointment and respond in typical fashion by getting their Champions League campaign off to a winning start.

Without Van Dijk in defence, the Reds were hoping to rely on Joel Matip at the back. However, the Cameroonian is ruled out of the tie after picking up a knock at the weekend.
Thiago is also missing after sustaining an injury during the derby, while Alisson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain continue their rehabilitation from injury.
Fabinho is likely to start alongside Joe Gomez at the back, with Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and Naby Keita the most likely trio in midfield.
