Not often, supporters are treated to such a monumental match in Week 3 of the EPL season, but that is exactly what is on tap for Monday as Liverpool and Manchester United take the pitch at . Both clubs are off to slow starts in the campaign, as Man U sits at the bottom of the table while the Reds have had to settle for a pair of draws.

Now under the bright lights of a Monday night match that will be broadcast to national audiences both in England and across the pond in the United States, the teams look to find their footing and move up the standings.

"I think the whole world will watch it,” Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp said. “It's Monday night anyway, everybody can watch it, and you will see how these two heavyweights deal with the situation."

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho, who is set to make his 100th EPL start, agrees.

“We know this is the biggest game here in the and it's always good to play these games because the fans always want to ,” he said. “So it's good for the morale as well.”

Talking Points for Week 3

The Reds are looking to make history Monday night. Should they capture all at Old Trafford, it would be the first time in Liverpool's 130-year history that Liverpool has taken three straight victories vs their arch-rivals. (They did fall in an exhibition match earlier this year).

The prospect of a victory was made a little more challenging due to Darwin Núñez picking up a red card in the last match vs.Crystal Palace.

“We spoke to Darwin and the reaction is like the reaction is in these situations,” Klopp said. “He was very disappointed with himself, obviously, that it happened. We spoke to him. The things the centre-half did, he's not the only player in the world doing these kinds of things.”

Liverpool will also be without the services of several players due to injury: Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara, Ibrahima  Konate, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Calvin Ramsay and Caoimhin Kelleher.

To say the Red Devils are struggling is an understatement. Not only has started the EPL season 0-2, but they also have not won a league match since May 2nd of last year. Cristiano Ronaldo wants to transfer and Erik Ten Hag has done little to right the ship as United's new manager. It's up to Liverpool to prolong the misery.

LFC Globe Verdict

Rivalry matches are never easy, so despite Manchester United's recent struggles, this will be no easy win for the Reds. United is desperate for a win to give their supporters hope for the campaign and Old Trafford is always a tough place to secure 3 points. With all that said, Liverpool should emerge victorious as they have the depth and talent to win anywhere in spite of several players missing due to injury or suspension.

Prediction:  Liverpool 3 - 1 Manchester United
