Following a lengthy three-month break, Liverpool were looking to go one step closer to clinching the Premier League title with a win against local rivals Everton.
Joel Matip and James Milner started in the back-line. There were rare starts for Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino, while Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson didn't feature due to injury concerns.

The Brazilian kept out Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison in the second half to save the Reds from being victims of a cruel smash and grab.
It wasn't vintage Liverpool, and the hiatus undeniably disrupted their style of play, but it was an overall solid first run-out after a long enforced break, only even if to build up their sharpness.
The result leaves Jurgen Klopp's side five points adrift from sealing the Premier League title, with games against Crystal Palace at Anfield and Manchester City at the Etihad to come.
