The kick-off is just around the corner at Anfield for this evening’s Premier League match between Liverpool and Leeds United. The game will get underway at 19:45 BST and the lineups are in.
Jürgen Klopp has only made one change to the lineup that won away at Ajax on Wednesday.
The squad will surely get a lift from the return of Thiago. The midfielder is starting in place of Jordan Henderson after missing the last 2 matches with a severe ear infection. Henderson is on the bench and apparently available after an injury scare in the closing minutes of Wednesday night’s game.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also makes his first appearance of the season on the bench. The Ox was hurt in the preseason friendly in Singapore against Crystal Palace and hasn’t been fit until today.
Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez Van Dijk, Robertson, Elliott, Fabinho, Thiago, Salah, Firmino, Núñez
Kelleher, Konate, Phillips, Milner, Tsimikas, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Carvalho
Meslier; Kristensen, Koch, Cooper, Struijk; Roca, Adams; Summerville, Harrison, Aaronson; Rodrigo
Robles, Llorente, Ayling, Firpo, Greenwood, Gnonto, Klich, Gelhardt, Bamford
The Reds could certainly use the 3 points against a struggling Leeds United. The Lilywhites as they are known to their supporters are currently in 18th place. The last time Leeds came to Anfield, the Reds beat the Whites 6-0. Hopefully, this lineup will have some goals in it as well.
Look for Darwin Núñez to keep his good goal-scoring form going. I also think Roberto Firmino has a goal in him today. They won’t crush Leeds the way they did last time but I think the Reds win the day. Let’s say 3-1 Liverpool.
