Liverpool put forth an uninspired effort for 90 minutes at Anfield as they slogged to a 0-0 draw with Leeds United on New Year’s Day. In fact, it was the first time the Reds had a scoreless draw since 2023 vs Manchester United.
- Alisson (6/10): Had a bad giveaway but made up for it with a save moments later. He now has 100 clean sheets for the club
- Frimpong (7/10): Continually beat his man down the far side of the pitch
- Van Dijk (7/10): Put a big chance just wide in the 70th minute, but was solid on the back line
- Konate (5/10): Was beaten to the ball on Leeds' potential goal that was called offside
- Wirtz 5/10): Forgettable performance after such a strong match vs. Wolves
- Szoboszlai (8/10): Forced a save in the second half and was a strong presence all the way through
- Bradley(6/10): Made some nice runs up from the back but could not connect with teammates
- Jones (5/10): Lacked his usual sharpness in midfield
- Ekitiké (5/10): Made some good runs, but was caught offside too often
- Robertson (7/10): Some strong crosses in the first half
- Gravenberch (6/10): Had a strong tackle in the second half to stop a Leeds counter
The Substitutes
- Kerkez (6/10): Did not really have an impact in nearly 20 minutes
- Mac Allister (7/10): Strong midfield play during his time on the bench
- Gakpo (5/10): Needless foul late that ended a Liverpool attack
- Chiesa (7/10): Some good moments going forward as Liverpool were pushing for a late winner
- Ngumoha (6/10): He was brought on to change the game, but was too tentative with the ball at his feet.
Man of the Match
- Szboszlai He created chances for others and had a few of his own.
The Manager
- Arne Slot (5/10): Had the Reds playing too safely. To his credit, he did bring on subs late to impact the game, but he should have done it sooner
