Following Wednesday night's disappointing defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool have the perfect opportunity to put things right against their local rivals.

Everton come to Anfield in search of their first win at the ground since 1999, although the visitors are able to cling on to a handful of draws over the years.

Two of them came last season, with Jurgen Klopp's side failing to beat Everton last year with a 1-1 draw at Anfield and a goalless draw at Goodison Park.

Marco Silva's Everton sit in sixth place in the Premier League table and there is real hope within their supporters that they can pull off a spectacular result.

However, the Reds have not dropped points to a team outside of the established 'top six' all season and will remain confident they can carry on that streak on Sunday, despite the result against midweek.

With Manchester City winning against Bournemouth and Tottenham playing at Arsenal, a win would be imperative to not lose ground on their immediate rivals.

Liverpool have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game, with Jordan Henderson (suspension) the only first-team player to be sidelined.

Adam Lallana is believed to be in contention for a place in the squad after recovering from a minor muscle injury but is unlikely to play a part from the start.

There should be changes in both defence and midfield from the game at the Parc des Princes with Dejan Lovren likely to make way for Trent Alexander-Arnold at the back.

The biggest questions lie in the middle of the pitch, with Henderson's suspension paving way for either Fabinho, Naby Keita or Xherdan Shaqiri to be brought back in to the starting eleven.

Much of who replaces Henderson - and possibly Milner - in midfield depends on the system Klopp opts to choose, with a 4-2-3-1 formation his go-to for fixtures such as these.

Shaqiri is most likely to return from the off, with Klopp acknowledging at his press-conference that at times the link between midfield and attack has not always been present.

Up front, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane should continue in their roles with Daniel Sturridge providing an extra option from the bench.
