Can Luis Díaz Become A Prolific Goalscorer This Season?

Fasika -

The Colombian star has made a blistering start to the /24 season with two goals in three games for Liverpool.

Díaz is expected to have a big season following an injury-hit year last season and the winger hasn't disappointed as he's been Liverpool's best player during the first three games of the season.

He may have been disappointed not to add to his tally against Newcastle after he was taken off during the first half due to 's sending off but he was wildly celebrating Darwin Núñez's winner on the touchline.

Regardless, he's been a major positive so far for Liverpool this season and his goal-scoring start has led to questions regarding whether the 26-year-old can become a prolific goalscorer for the club this season.

While Díaz possesses a first-touch and dribbling ability akin to former Liverpool forward , one attribute of his game that falls short of the Al Nassr man is his goal-scoring.

During Mané's career at Liverpool, he never scored less than 10 league goals for the club and even won the Golden Boot in the 2018/19 season alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and .

While Díaz scored just four league goals in 13 games when he joined Liverpool in January and four league goals the following season when he played just 17 games due to injury.

Beginning the season with goals was wholly important for Díaz to gain confidence in himself as a goalscorer who can relieve some of the burden off Mohamed Salah.

While he may not be on penalty duties, should Díaz stay fit, he's already proved himself to be an extremely important player in 's team and he could no doubt become a regular scorer of goals this season.

Forward Rotation Will Hamper His Goalscoring

As I've said in previous articles, Liverpool most probably possesses the best-attacking lineup in Europe.

The talent in the players of Díaz, , Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nùñez, and is unmatched.

While it's a great problem for Klopp to have as he decides who will play which match, it'll also affect the players as building a consistent run in the team could prove to be an issue when you have some serious talent on the bench.

The Colombian has started off the season on a good note but do you think he can become a prolific goalscorer this season?
