‣ Amex Stadium
‣ Premier League
‣ Kick-off: 3:00pm (GMT)

Liverpool enjoyed a successful festive period last month, winning all eight of their fixtures in December to put themselves in pole position in the Premier League.

However, the Reds have started 2019 with two consecutive defeats and manager Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his side can get back to winning ways this afternoon.

Liverpool travel to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton as they look to consolidate their fount point lead over Man City at the top of the table.

Brighton have just one win in their last six league games, and on paper, this fixture should be another win on the road for Liverpool - who ran out 5-1 winners here last season.

Mohamed Salah grabbed the winner in a 1-0 win at Anfield earlier this season and the Egyptian will return alongside other big-hitters after defeat to Wolves on Monday.

Liverpool have been facing somewhat of a defensive crisis in recent weeks, with Joe Gomez and Joel Matip ruled out since December.

Dejan Lovren was forced off the field with a hamstring injury on Monday night and is another absentee at the back for the trip to the Amex.

Whilst Klopp suggested Matip could feature against the Seagulls, it is likely that Fabinho continues at the back alongside Virgil van Dijk, who is fit enough to return to the heart of defence.

The boss gave a rest to the likes of Alisson, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold for the FA Cup tie, however the trio are also certain to return to the Reds' back-line.

In attack, Mohamed Salah will link up with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, with Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi both falling back out of the side.

It remains to be seen how Klopp shapes up his midfield, with skipper Jordan Henderson likely to return after missing the game against Wolves.
