Watch: Jurgen Klopp's pre-match press conference - Tottenham vs Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp spoke to reporters at Melwood ahead of Liverpool's trip to face Tottenham in the Premier League this weekend.

The Reds travel to north London on Saturday as they look for a win that would further strengthen their grasp at the top of the Premier League table.

An away fixture against Spurs is usually a tricky prospect, especially so under manager Jose Mourinho, who has a long history with the Reds.

Should Liverpool run out victors at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, however, it would be the best ever start to a league campaign of any team in the history of Europe's top five leagues.

Liverpool are yet to lose a game in the Premier League this season, with some suggestions that the Reds could emulate Arsenal's 2003-04 season and go the campaign unbeaten.

However, Klopp insists he doesn't "think a second about it," with all his focus solely on this weekend's meeting against Mourinho's side.

"I didn't think a second about it and will not start thinking about it now," Klopp said.

"The only thing I can say is if we thought about any kind of record, we would not have won the number of games we have won so far. That's it.

"I think in sport - and you probably have to ask other teams who have done it before - they have never set a record because they wanted to set a record. It just happened because of being focused on each step we make and that is what we have to do.

"My problem at this moment is Tottenham, the way they play, the way we think they will play and all that stuff. That's the only thing I am concerned about, nothing else."

Klopp also provided an injury update on his squad, confirming James Milner and Naby Keita will miss the trip to London.

Meanwhile, Joel Matip has been in and out of training and is unlikely to start, whilst Dejan Lovren and Fabinho will return to full-team training next week.

"Joel was not part of all parts of training. He was outside on the pitch, which looked really good, but then he had to do his own stuff again. Yesterday he was part of the first part of training," Klopp added.

“Shaq trained completely normal since he's in. Dejan and Fabinho we expect to be back next week in full training.

“That's obviously good. If that's then early enough for the United game, I don't know but we will see. They work really hard in the moment and they go really through the paces, so that's good.

“Clyney is in a good way but not available.”
