Video: Jurgen Klopp previews Liverpool's clash against Brighton

LFC Globe -

Jurgen Klopp spoke to the press ahead of Liverpool's trip to the south coast to face on Saturday.

Liverpool are back in action less than 72 hours after a shock 2-0 defeat at against as they resume duties with a trip to the Amex Stadium.

Brighton have won just twice in their opening nine games, with their latest coming in their last outing with a 2-1 over .

While the Seagulls languish in 16th in the table, Klopp insisted his side will need to be prepared to put in real graft in order to secure three points.

"Brighton might be a good example, how good they are, but even in the other games when the results were not that good, it's pretty special with Brighton," Klopp said.

"We have analysis meetings obviously a lot and I have analysts who are really honest in that, so if they think the opponent is a tough one to play, they tell me in the first second of the meeting.

"We see all the results they had in the last six, seven, eight games and we say: ‘OK, the results don't look like but they are in a really good moment.' They play just good football.

"You could see that since they worked together now, they have always possession, a lot of possession in the game, a football-playing side with a clear idea, adapt sometimes a little bit system-wise but most of the time play the same system and stick to that and do that really well.

"Yes, they didn't score so far maybe often enough to get the results out of it but we cannot go there and expect they will not finish their situations off, of course not.

"We have to make sure we are ready for a lot of necessary defensive work because they make the pitch big. The Brighton pitch is anyway big and they try to use all of it and then it's just hard work. That's what we have to be ready for – we were always so far, and we have to be again."

Klopp remained coy on which of his players would be fit enough to play a part on Saturday as he insisted he will need to make "late decisions" on a number of players.

Skipper should return in some capacity after returning to full team training earlier this week.

“Hendo trained yesterday, parts of team training and then had his individual session, so we have to see what we do with that,” he said.

“For all the other players who played now [against Atalanta], they are still in recovery, so that's how it is when you have only these few days in between.

“We have to make late decisions, so if you were to ask me now what will be the line-up and I was in a mood to tell you, I couldn't!

“I [will] make this decision as late as possible because I have to wait until the medical department tells me who looks like [they're] ready.

“Then it looks like from now on we have another 25-and-a-half hours to make sure that we bring the fittest and freshest players on the pitch.”

The boss was also questioned on midfielder 's future at the club. The Dutchman is well into the final year of his contract and is seemingly unlikely to put pen to paper.

Klopp appeared to be resigned to losing the 30-year-old, although he didn't give much as he insisted he'd be "happy" if a was agreed.

"I cannot really say a lot about that. I would be happy if he would stay here – that's maybe the only thing.

"But sitting here, I'm pretty happy with Gini. You see [that] when you look at most of the line-ups!"
