Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson will be in contention for Wednesday's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace, according to Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds played out a goalless draw with Everton on their return to football. Both Robertson and Salah missed out due to minor knocks, with Robertson not involved at all and Salah an unused substitute.
The duo both failed to train regularly in the build-up to the clash, but Klopp is hopeful of having them back in time for Crystal Palace's visit of Anfield next week.
“There are different reasons for the line-up,” Klopp told the official site.
“It's a really special time, and at this time, after four weeks' pre-season and preparation, we cannot ignore that we play again on Wednesday. I just can't.
“It's not the last game of the season, so I have to think a little bit about it.
“Some players couldn't train in the last week – they trained, but not with the team – like Mo and Robbo, but yesterday they were in training, and both looked really good.
“That's why Mo is in the squad, Robbo not yet but on Wednesday [he will be] again.
“For Robbo, it was better to have a proper session today and then be in for Wednesday, and for Mo it is the right thing to do it like this.”
Despite Liverpool dominating possession against Carlo Ancelotti's side, it was clear they were missing the talents of Robertson and Salah.
With James Milner, and later Joe Gomez, deputising at left-back, Liverpool didn't appear to have the ability to stretch the Blues defence.
It will undoubtedly be a big boost to have them back against Palace, with the Reds still needing five more points to clinch their first league title in 30 years.
Should they run out victors against Roy Hodgson's side, they have the possibility of winning the Premier League title against Manchester City at the Etihad early next month.
