Match Preview: Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest -Liverpool Prepped To Take On Trees

Jacob -

After the break, Liverpool return to EPL action when they host Nottingham Forest at on September 14th. The Reds remain unbeaten under and hope to continue their early season push to the top of the table.

Slot Meets The Press

Arne Slot met with the media and discussed Liverpool's early season success and a variety of other topics including the tough upcoming slate of matches.

“(Being rusty) that's always the question after two weeks, but if you saw them playing with the national teams, I think the momentum for the individual [is there] and now let's see if they come back together if they can play in the same way as the last few games,” he said. “ In the first three games, we were [in a] really strong physique but we only played one day each seven days. Now they have a point to prove and I assume that they all want to play every game.”

Get To Know Nottingham

James Ward Prowse is set to make Nottingham debut vs. Liverpool. He previously played for and has a total of 381 EPL appearances under his belt. Forest also boast a pair of former Liverpool players on the roster in and Taiwo Awoniwi. They sit 9th on the table with five points. The Trees have trouble scoring, however with just four goals in four games. Liverpool have not lost to Forest at Anfield since 1969 and the Reds have the chance to become just the fifth team to start the season with four straight clean sheets to start the campaign.

More Records for Mo & Other Notes

With a goal, Salah would become the first Liverpool player to score in a new boss' first four games in charge of the club. Alexis MacAllister is set to make his 50th appearance for Liverpool. The 7 goals Liverpool have scored in their first three games are the most tallies in that span since 1995 when Liverpool scored 10 goals in the first three games.

LFC Globe Verdict

Liverpool will need all three points to keep pace with at the top of the table. Forest have a new piece in James Ward-Prowse and they have a solid defensive side, but Liverpool have plenty of offensive options to find the back of the net. In addition, Forest have not won at Anfield in 25 matches and I expect that trend to continue.
