Now that Liverpool have claimed a spot in the knockout rounds of the , the Reds will turn their attention to a massive matchup in the as they take on today, on Sunday, December 1 at .

Table Talk

Liverpool are 8 points clear of City at the top of the table. The Reds have only lost once this season in League play while conversely City have lost 3 games in a row and are in danger of being caught by and who are only one point back, tied for third. A Liverpool victory can propel the Reds to 11 points clear of their closest challenger while a will tighten the race considerably. But says the team isn't focused on the standings just yet.

“Obviously we are in a good position, you cannot deny that. But I think it's still early in the season so we are not really looking at the table yet. Obviously we are aware of the situation but we have to keep winning the games to stay on top and also just to the games.”.

Sinking City

As mentioned, City have lost three League matches in a row, but they have struggled in the Champions League. They are winless in their last six matches, with the last victory coming back on October 26th vs. .  City are still a dangerous side though as Erling Haaland has scored 17 goals so far this season for club and country. He appears to be the only one who can find the back of the net though as the next-highest scorer on the club is Mateo Kovacic with three goals.

Injury Update

Liverpool have injuries to some key players, particularly on the back line. Both and Ibrahima Konate were injured late in the match with . The good news is is ready to start in the match vs. City. Goalkeeper Alisson is still dealing with a long-term injury.

LFC Globe Verdict

Liverpool vs. City always feels like a big game and this is no different. It has huge table implications where a Liverpool win can propel the Reds to a double-digit lead in the race to a Premier League Championship. With the injuries at the defender, however, Haaland could cause a problem. I still think the Reds will come with a 2-1 win,
