Liverpool return to Premier League action with a fixture of huge importance following their goalless draw with Bayern Munich in midweek.

Jurgen Klopp will hope his side have their shooting boots this time around, with potential victory at Old Trafford giving the Reds a three-point advantage over title rivals Manchester City.

Man United have won all but two of their fixtures since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in December, with their last league defeat coming in the reverse fixture at Anfield.

Much has changed since Liverpool's 3-1 victory that day, with United oozing confidence since the departure of previous boss Jose Mourinho.

This fixture could be a pivotal moment in the title race and it's a chance for Klopp's side to show they have the mettle to make their mark at the top of the table.

There's no doubt United would love nothing more to derail Liverpool's hunt for Premier League glory, and the Reds must be prepared for a heated atmosphere at Old Trafford.

Team News

Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez are still sidelined through injury, whilst Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster are not yet ready to make a return.

The rest of the squad are in good knick however, having gotten over a bout of illness and niggling knocks over the past few weeks.

Virgil van Dijk should slot back in to the back-line alongside Joel Matip, having been suspended for the draw against Bayern on Tuesday.

Klopp has a number of options available in midfield, with Fabinho, Gini Wijnaldum, James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita all vying for a starting role.

Much depends on Klopp's approach to the game, however Fabinho and Wijnaldum are very likely starters, given their form in recent weeks.

Henderson delivered an excellent display in midweek and it's hard to see Klopp leaving the skipper out. Keita's recent performances and growing confidence also warrant a starting place, however.

It will be intriguing to see which personnel Klopp opts for, with Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri other possibilities for the manager.
