Liverpool players looking dejected after conceding a goal against Manchester City.
  • Mamardashvili (6/10) The blame for the loss does not lie at his feet
  • Gomez (4/10) Far from the only defender to have a bad day
  • Szoboszlai (5/10) Did not see much of the ball or have many chances from set peices
  • Gravenberch (6/10) Not a bad day, but needed to do more
  • Van Dijk (4/10) Gave away both Haaland goals in the first half
  • Kerkez (5/10) Unremarkable day
  • Konate(5/10) Probably the best of the back line, but still struggled
  • Jones(6/10) Good play for the first half hour then levels dropped
  • Wirtz: (6/10) Strong play in spots but was overshadowed by the poor play of the team
  • Salah  (5/10) Popped up in good spots, but lacked the finishing touch. Second straight penalty miss
  • Ekitike (7/10) Most attacking-minded player. Had many chances and then drew the penalty

The Substitutes

  • Ngumoha (7/10) Bright moments on the wing after coming on
  • Mac Allister (6/10) Put a solid shot on frame
  • Frimpong (5/10) Little impact after coming on
  • Chiesa (5/10) Same as above
  • Gakpo (6/10) A few good moments, but came on too late to make a real difference

Man of the Match

  •   Ekitike

The Manager

  • Arne Slot (2/10) I said in my preview Slot needed to start a more defensive lineup. He didn’t and the Reds lost 4-0, the worst loss of Slot’s tenure
