Arne Slot delivered devastating injury news as he said Alexander Isak will be out for “months” following an injury vs. Tottenham. Isak underwent surgery to repair a broken ankle and fibula on December 22nd.

“It’s been a really difficult and challenging period for him,” Slot said of Isak.”When you come to a new club you want to show all the qualities you have, but that was impossible for him to do. When you play in this league you have to train 3 or 4 months before months before you can impact the game. You could see with his goal vs. West Ham and his last goal that he was starting to impact the game. That’s why this injury is so unlucky.”

Other Injury News

Joe Gomez and Waturu Endo have been ruled out for the December 27th match vs Wolves at Anfield. Conor Bradly and Cody Gakpo are training with the club, but Slot says they are only 50/50 on whether they will play or not. Domonik Szoboszlai will miss the match due to yellow card suspension

Transfer News

Liverpool have been heavily linked to Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and that speculation has only increased with Isak’s injury. He leads the Cherries in goals (8) and assists (3) this season. There has also been speculation that the Reds will recall Harvey Elliott from his loan with Aston Villa.

Slot prefers to focus on the last-place Wolves:

“Like evey game in the Premier League, this is a dangerous game,” Slot said. “Their results throughout the season have not been what they were hoping for, but they have been very close to results recently, especially to Arsenal away. It is a home game, which I am excited about. We will need our finds behind us.”

Slot held his press conference early this week due to the upcoming Christmas holiday and admitted it was too early in the week to make lineup decisions. He did say however, that Milos Kerkez and Florin Wirtz were developing a strong partnership on the pitch. He also hinted that younger players like Rio Ngumoha could see some time depending on the injury status of Gakpo and others. LFC Globe will have a predicted lineup later in the week..

Preparing for "Dangerous" Wolves

Liverpool return to action on December 27th against a Wolves side currently bottom of the table with just 2 points from 17 matches. Despite the massive gap in league standing, Slot refuses to take the result for granted, labeling Gary O'Neil's side "dangerous."

Injury Update Summary:

  • Alexander Isak: OUT (Surgery on fractured leg/ankle).
  • Cody Gakpo: 50-50 (Late fitness test pending).
  • Conor Bradley: 50-50 (Hamstring recovery ongoing).
  • Wataru Endo / Joe Gomez: Both remain unavailable.
