All attention now turns to the visit of Manchester United, with a draw or win for Jurgen Klopp's side seeing them surpass Man City at the top of the Premier League table, albeit having played a game more than Pep Guardiola's side, who face an in-form Brighton side at home on Wednesday night.
Liverpool have won their last 10 consecutive league home games, which has helped them to a run of just one defeat in their last 24 games in all competitions. Meanwhile, the hosts arrive at Anfield low on confidence, having won just two of their past eight games in all competitions.
The two sides last met back in October as the Reds ran riot at Old Trafford with a Mohamed Salah hat-trick inspiring them to a ruthless 5-0 victory, although that came against previous United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was replaced by Ralf Rangnick back in November.
Liverpool are undoubtedly aware of the stakes, with anything but a victory deemed harmful to their hopes of hunting Man City down at the top of the table, given the two sides' respective run-ins. It's set to be an exciting 90 minutes of football under the lights at Anfield, with the hope the Reds can get the job done in style.

Klopp has had a virtually fully-fit squad to choose from in recent weeks and the boss thankfully reported no fresh injury concerns following the weekend's win at Wembley.
The likes of Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson started off the bench at the weekend but the duo will be hopeful of returning to the starting eleven, with Ibrahima Konate and one of Thiago or Naby Keita likely to make way.
Meanwhile, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino were introduced as second-half substitutes and the duo will be hopeful of retaining their place in the front three, although the likes of Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane impressed against City.
