Jürgen Klopp’s Pre-Match Press Conference: Wolves vs Liverpool

Liverpool boss spoke to the media about a multitude of topics ahead of his side's visit to on Saturday, September 16 at 12:30 PM (UK time).

With Liverpool's South American contingent of , , and expected to be rested on the weekend considering their late arrivals, Klopp spoke out on the controversial decision to place Liverpool on the early kick-off on Saturday.

He also shared an update on the fitness of , and Ibrahima Konate and what their status regarding the game is.

After confirming Alexander-Arnold will miss the game with an injury, he said: "Thiago is running that is it, Ibou trained two days, who else? I didn't see him yet (Núñez), we had contact but he is fine but there will be decisions. 

“He trains the full week with us (Quansah), Stefan (Bajcetic) had a good time with the U21s but I think that's it. I don't think I forgot anybody otherwise that would be bad."

Klopp also provided an update on 's fitness and the qualities he possesses.

"The package is really interesting. He's good in small spaces, he's good in big spaces as well. He can accelerate. He has a good overview,” he said.

“Good passer, good shooter. Full week training now. He's working extremely hard, he only arrived yesterday but with Cody, Virgil and the age group, he's a good guy with massive potential. 

“He has to fit in, he will, how long it will take, I don't know. We will work on that, I'm happy he is and we can start that."

With the departures of , , and in recent years, key aspects of Klopp's Liverpool side in the past have slowly but surely been replaced and he admitted that he wants his current side to be a new time and not just another copy of his old team at the club.

“We changed a few things, brought in new players. This is not year eight because in October I'm here eight years, this is year one and I am fully in, Klopp added.

“We brought in some guys to give interesting insight into our lives. We want to become a new team and not the replica of the old."
