Jurgen Klopp's pre-match press conference - Liverpool vs Man City

LFC Globe -

Jurgen Klopp spoke to reporters at Melwood ahead of this weekend's clash against .

The Reds face Pep Guardiola's side on Sunday with both teams sitting on 19 points in the table, although the visitors have a six-goal advantage on goal difference.

Victory for the Reds will see them go top of the table ahead of the break, but Klopp was keen to highlight that the fixture will be as tough as any, despite beating City three times last season.

"We beat City three times last season and not once after any of those games did we go into the dressing room and think ‘now we know how to beat them'," he said.

"We will analyse after the press conference but Pep said they are playing better. How can I say something different? It's not for me to compare.

"An outstanding side, that's obvious, I'm not the right person to talk about anything else."

Klopp also insisted that it 'doesn't make sense to think about the title', warning the Reds that they need to be at their best should they want all three points.

"I don't think it makes too much sense at the moment to think about the title, but it's a game against Man City and it's tough," he added.

"Man City is always tough, even when we won 3-0 in the . In the 4-3 they were really good. Before that they had 60 games in a row. They never gave up even at 4-1 down.

"We have to be spot on, on our best to keep them from our goal and create chances in front of our goal. They have my respect, for sure. It will be hard work, no problem with that, everybody knows it."

Klopp also delivered a fitness update, whilst playing down reports that Salah is suffering from 'second season syndrome'.

"Expectation changed that's normal, he set a new standard. Nobody expected 10 goals after five, six, seven games," he said on Salah.

"Each striker could write a book about these moments, scoring without knowing how. It's so rare. 98% of a striker is the hardest work, 2% is the easy going stuff.

"The only thing which has changed is the kind of questions you have asked. It was a surprise, now it isn't. That's the world.

"If I games, I know everything. If I lose three in a row, I know nothing. Both are not true.

"I'm relaxed about that."
