Jurgen Klopp's pre-match press conference - Cardiff vs Liverpool

LFC Globe -

Jurgen Klopp spoke to reporters at Melwood ahead of Liverpool's visit of in the this weekend.

The Reds travel to relegation-threatened Cardiff on Sunday afternoon as they look for another valuable three points in the race for the Premier League title.

Neil Warnock's side sit three points from safety and are favourites to go down alongside and Town.

Klopp is more than aware of the threat Cardiff possess, as he insists his side will need to be ready for a 'whole city fighting for the league'.

"We will probably have the ball a bit more than Cardiff and that's what we have to use," Klopp told reporters.

"We have to be very careful about counter-attacks, we have to be very careful about always [being] concentrated because each set-piece will be a proper scoring opportunity for Cardiff. It will be difficult.

"We have to play against a lot of players, I think, in blue shirts around the box, that's how it is. We should expect that, but not only there. They are now in a good moment.

"A lot of people thought a couple of weeks ago Cardiff [were] done and they got results. They were really unlucky against , that was unbelievably unlucky and they went 1-0 up and then the first goal - we all saw it - was a clear offside and then came the second goal as well.

"They had nearly three points and in the end had nil, so they responded on that really well. That's impressive.

"I think the whole city fights for the league and we will go there and have to face it. We will face that and, if we are prepared, then we still can get a result I think."

The boss also provided a fitness update on his squad as he insisted they are all in contention for the trip to Wales.

“Always after games a few players have slight, little problems but nothing really serious – so it should be OK, [they] should all be in,” he said.

“Dejan was ill so he should be available again, we will see that.

“We will see (about ); we have a lot of players with a lot of rhythm, which is good, but it's good to have him. It's very important.

“It's the same for Ox, it's not about being ready and you come in immediately, because as long as the other players show no drop in form in training, we came [to this point] like this.

“But it's very good to have them back and have them in contention.”
