Jurgen Klopp explained the exclusion of Adam Lallana, Divock Origi and Dominic Solanke after they missed Tuesday’s trip to Paris.
Liverpool are set to take on Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night as they look to secure qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Victory at the Parc des Princes will see them qualify, although defeat means they will have a chance to put things right against Napoli at Anfield.
The Reds boss named a 21-man travelling squad that included Sadio Mane (illness) and Joe Gomez (knock), allying concerns over the duo.
However, Lallana, Origi and Solanke were not included in the squad and Klopp has explained why the trio miss out.
“Adam Lallana is back in training on Thursday, but that is obviously after the game tomorrow,” Klopp told reporters at his pre-match press conference.
“The issue is nothing anymore because he is on the way back; it was a minor muscle thing and nothing serious.
“Divock is unfortunately ill. Dom has a little groin issue, it happened in training.”
Nathaniel Clyne was the other absentee from the squad, however Klopp offered no explanation for his exclusion amidst reports he is due to leave Anfield in January.
