In Photos: Jones and Minamino double helps Liverpool to 7-2 rout over Lincoln

All the best snaps as a relentless Liverpool side thrashed League One side Lincoln City 7-2 in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

It was a perfect evening for Liverpool, who showcased their superiority from the off and looked in total control for much of the ninety minutes. The night included debuts for youngster Rhys Williams and new signings Kostas Tsimikas and Diogo Jota.

Xherdan Shaqiri fired Liverpool with a powerful free-kick inside the opening ten minutes. Takumi Minamino added another soon after with an excellent finish from outside the box.

Curtis Jones, who put in an impressive performance, added a third and fourth in quick succession with two excellent strikes from the left, with the second deflecting into the back of the net.

Minamino put Liverpool 5-0 up just seconds into the second half before Lincoln pulled one back through Tayo Edun. Marko Grujic added the Reds' sixth with a strike from outside the box, but the Imps scored their second through Lewis Montsma to make it 6-2.

Divock Origi got in on the act in the final minutes as he fired home from just inside the area after being found by Minamino, who made his mark throughout the ninety minutes.

The result sees Liverpool set up a fourth-round clash against Arsenal at Anfield, which pits them against the Gunners twice next week, with the two sides meeting in the Premier League on Monday night.
