How Liverpool and Spurs will prepare in differing ways for Champions League final

Liverpool and Tottenham's plans for the final have been revealed, with Jurgen Klopp hoping to be second-time lucky in Madrid.

It's an all-English affair in Spain on June 1 as the Reds face Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs at Estadio Metropolitano in the Champions League final.

Whilst Liverpool's plans have not yet been finalised, manager Klopp is expected to repeat his preparations from last year's heart-break in Kiev, with the Reds going on a training camp ahead of the crucial clash.

According to reliable Paul Joyce, "nothing logistical will alter" from last year with the squad returning to training at Melwood 48 hours after Sunday's last league game of the season against .

Whilst the coaching staff are hard at work at Melwood, the players will be given a five-day break to recuperate themselves.

Most of the squad used that time last year to go on holiday with their families and they will be allowed to do so once again, although "not on long-haul flights".

After reporting back on May 20, the Reds are expected to depart to either Marbella or Majorca for a five-day warm-weather training camp, before returning to to wrap up their preparations.

Joyce adds that the squad will travel to Madrid on May 30, two days before the final, so they can settle in the city ahead of the game.

Meanwhile, Tottenham will be taking a more relaxed approach and "will continue to train as normal" with Pochettino opting to not go abroad for a training camp.

The Spurs boss will not want to disrupt his team's usual preparations and routine, although his players are expected to be given some time off after this weekend.

Both sides reached the final in the Spanish capital after staging dramatic late comebacks in the semi-finals.

Liverpool overturned a 3-0 first-leg deficit against to beat them 4-0 at whilst Lucas Moura's last minute strike against Ajax saw Spurs progress on goals with a 3-3 aggregate score.
