David Moyes urges West Ham to ‘take clinical moments’ against Liverpool

LFC Globe -

David Moyes believes West Ham have a team “worth talking about” again.

The Hammers lost captain Declan Rice to this summer but reinvested the £105million transfer fee in James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus.

Former midfielder Ward-Prowse has two goals and five assists to show for his first five appearances, Mexico Alvarez has impressed in a deep-lying central role and fellow Ajax recruit Kudus bagged a debut goal in the against Backa Topola on Thursday night.

Last season's Europa Conference League triumph was tempered by a poor campaign, but West Ham have made a promising start both domestically and in Europe this term.

Ahead of Sunday's trip to Liverpool, a buoyant Moyes said: “I think we're beginning to get a group of players we could be talking a lot about.

“But we have to take clinical moments. When we get chances we have to take them and at , you always have to defend well.

“We have to not fear it and go and attack Liverpool as much as we can and try to challenge them. We want to try to challenge the top teams.”

Moyes is hopeful Jarrod Bowen will be fit after the forward missed the 3-1 Europa League with a sickness bug.

“Bowen has a virus,” he added. “I'm hoping he'll be OK. We'll check him. He's not trained this week, nothing at all, so I need to see how he is.”
