Curtis Jones in training for Liverpool; he is predicted to start against Bournemouth as Arne Slot rotates his midfield.

Liverpool return to EPL play with a match at Bournemouth after an impressive 3-0 victory at Marseille in Champions League action. Even though Arne Slot has used a 4-2-3–1 formation during the 13-match unbeaten run, with Mohamed Salah on the pitch, it looked more like a 4-3-3 at times.

There should not be that many changes to the Starting XI. Just rotating a few plates to keep fresh legs. Federico Cheisa should also be available off the bench after suffering a slight injury in training.

  • GK: Alisson He had a great game vs. Marseille, shutting out the high-powered French side for just the third time this season
  • RB: Jeremie Frimpong– Player of the match vs Marseille. Will be in contention for the same honour again
  • CB: Ibrahima Konaté– Returns to the lineup after a family issue prevented the trip to France
  • CB Virgil Van Dijk (C)  – As steady as she goes for the captain.
  • LB: Andy Robertson - Since Milos Kerkez put in a full shift in the Champions League, Robertson is a more than capable replacement
  • CM: Curtis Jones – Slot routinely rotates Mac Allister and Jones in this spot. That trend continues
  • CM: Ryan Gravenberch – Continues his run as a regular starter under Slot.
  • RW: Mohamed Salah - The Egyptian had a solid outing in his return from AFCON
  • AM: Dominik Szboszlai- Seems to be back on track after a free-kick goal midweek
  • LW: Florian Wirtz– Witz’s pairing with Salah paid big dividends last match, and it should translate well to the EPL.
  • ST: Hugo  Ekitiké-  Had several chances in front of the goal, but called for two offsides. I expect him to bounce back
Predicted Liverpool 4-2-3-1 lineup vs Bournemouth featuring Alisson, Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Jones, Gravenberch, Salah, Szoboszlai, Wirtz, and Ekitike.
Arne Slot is predicted to make three changes from the midweek win: Ibrahima Konaté returns to defense, while Andy Robertson and Curtis Jones rotate in for freshness.

Key Stat to Watch: Liverpool’s unbeaten run is at 13, and while that may seem impressive, the longest in club history stands at 44 from 2019-2020

Final Score Prediction: Liverpool 3  Bournemouth 0

Star Man:  Hugo  Ekitiké. If he gets as many chances as he did in the last match, he will finish with a goal or two
