Liverpool goalkeeper Adrián has agreed to a one-year contract extension, the club announced recently. The Spaniard joined the Reds as a free agent in 2019 and has made 26 appearances between the pipes during that time. His lone appearance last year (aside from the pre-season) came in Liverpool's 3-1 win over Manchester City for the Community Shield.
“Once a red… Always a RED!!! So proud and happy to be part of you one more year!”, Adrián tweeted after signing the extension.
LFC Globe Verdict
This move by Adrián may seem somewhat surprising considering the keeper is 36 years old and may want more playing time with another club before he retires. After all, he has only made two appearances in official matches in the last two seasons for Liverpool. But Adrián has opted for the comfortable and familiar and he doesn't seem to mind playing behind Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher.
