The End Is Near: Reds travel to Villa Park for Klopp's final away match

In Jürgen Klopp’s penultimate match as Liverpool boss, the Reds will travel to Aston Villa on Monday, May 13. While they have been eliminated from the Premier League title chase, Liverpool did beat Tottenham the last time out and they will look to send Klopp out on a winning note in the final two matches.

Bidding Farewell

Liverpool have several special events planned to honour Klopp over the next few weeks, including a “Danke Jürgen” celebration on May 28th.  As for Klopp, he would rather focus on football and he has plenty of respect for Aston Villa.

“I saw them playing last night, obviously they have to travel back now, stuff like this. But it’s the last home game of the season of Aston Villa, they want to have a good last home game because they play an incredible season, they qualify pretty likely for the Champions League, which is a big one. I’m not sure when Villa was last time there. This year Conference League, next year Champions League – Unai is doing an incredible job there. But we will give it a try, definitely.”

Several intriguing storylines are heading into the match. If Alisson gets the start in goal, it will be his 200th career Premier League match where he has 85 clean sheets. If Liverpool score two goals over the final two matches of the season, it would set a club record for most goals scored in a season, breaking the club record of 138 in the process.
