Watch Jürgen Klopp's Post-Match press conference vs. Bournemouth

Jacob -

Jürgen Klopp was visibly frustrated as he addressed the media following Liverpool's shocking 1-0 loss to Bournemouth. The boss addressed those frustrations, Mohamed Salah's missed penalty and the Reds' away record during the press conference.

Frustration Abounds

Like every Red supporter, Klopp was upset with the performance of the club and he did not hold back when speaking with reporters.

“I am, very (frustrated),” Klopp said. “The game was pretty much the opposite of what we wanted to show and to do today. I think we played for pretty much 95 minutes the game Bournemouth wanted to play and a few minutes maybe, a few moments, we did the stuff we wanted to do actually, so we lost the game. Very, very, very frustrating, yeah”

Summing Up Salah's Missed Penalty Kick

Even the best players in the world miss penalties sometimes. Klopp did not make excuses for the miss nor did he place the blame on Salah for it. He instead opted for a plain statement of fact.

“We got a penalty, we missed it,” Klopp said. “They help, if we deserve them, a team who is pretty dominant usually, and we are quite a lot in the opposition box, it was a strange thing that we didn't have one. Now we had one and missed it, so end of that story.”

Cause For Concern

Liverpool's success from has been lacking in this campaign both in the EPL and other competitions. Klopp says that playing well in road games has been a strength of Liverpool in the past, but not this year.

“I think with the games we are top four, if I'm right,” Klopp said. “With the away games we are not even in Europe. There is always a reason for the situation you are in and our away record is for sure [one of them]. We could have had more points at home as well – or maybe should have. Away, definitely. It was a big strength of us in the last years, it made a real difference between, but that's how it is when you are successful, when you do the things consistently in the right way, with the quality we have, we have a good chance to away or get away results as well. This season not often enough. It's a clear point, to be honest.”

LFC Globe Verdict

Klopp did not mine words in the press conference. He did not place blame on Salah for example for missing the penalty as other bosses might have, but he was not afraid to let his frustrations show.

Klopp even said the team had the exact opposite performance of what he expected. What stood out the most though was that Klopp usually has something positive to say, even after a , but not this time and that speaks volumes.
