Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a hat-trick for Unai Emery's side to book Arsenal's place in the Europa League final against Chelsea.

The hosts were 3-1 down from the first-leg, however they had early hopes of staging another European comeback this week as Kevin Gameiro converted from close-range to put them 1-0 up at the Mestalla.

However, Aubameyang scored a stunning volley from the edge of the box to strike back for the Gunners, before Alexandre Lacazette slotted home with a well-placed finish after half-time.

Gameiro popped up once again just eight minutes later as he tapped in Valencia's second of the night to make it 3-5 on aggregate, leaving the home side with another three goals to get to overturn the tie.

However, it was Arsenal who continued the scoring on the night as Aubameyang grabbed his second and the visitors' third.

The Gabon international slid in and converted from Ainsley Maitland-Niles' low cross from just inside the six-yard box to give Arsenal the lead.

He completed his hat-trick two minutes from time after smashing the ball into the top corner to seal a 7-3 victory on aggregate and set up Arsenal's first European final in 13 years.

Arsenal will face Chelsea in the final in Baku on 29 May with Liverpool and Tottenham meeting in Madrid for the Champions League final on 1 June - the first time in history all four sides in both European finals are from the same country.
