Liverpool retain top spot in the Premier League, becoming the first side this season to reach 60 points after just 23 games.

Roy Hodgson's side took a surprise lead via Andros Townsend in the first-half as the visitors went 1-0 up heading in to the break.

A topsy-turvy second-half saw six goals scored, with Mohamed Salah equalising for Liverpool within just 60 seconds of the restart.

Roberto Firmino put the Reds 2-1 ahead, however Palace struck back with a James Tomkins header just after the hour mark.

Liverpool then restored their lead in a fortuitous manner as Salah bundled home on the line to score his 50th Premier League goal after an error from Julian Speroni.

The Reds went 4-2 up in injury time after Sadio Mane scored his fourth goal in his last four appearances against Palace, before Max Meyer grabbed a consolation goal with just seconds to go.
