Liverpool Player Ratings vs Brighton: Ekitiké  Shines, Salah Plays Big Role

he Liverpool FC stadium Anfield as the squad prepares to travel for the Champions League match against Inter Milan.

Hugo Ekitiké scored his second straight brace in the EPL and Mohamed Salah provided an assist off a corner as Liverpool topped Brighton 2-0 after a tumultuous week. It is Liverpool’s 4th straight result in EPL play.

The Starting XI

  • Alisson (7/10): Did not have much to do with only one save, but he commanded his box very well as always
  • Joe Gomez (7/10): Provided the assist on the opening goal but was forced off with injury in the 26th minute 
  • Virgil van Dijk (7/10) Helped to clear a late corner to keep the clean sheet. 
  • Konate (7/10) Much better today, stopping a big chance, but did pick up a needless yellow card 
  • Kerkez (6/10) Played well in the midfield as Liverpool bossed possession during the match
  • Wirtz (6/10) Another solid performance in the midfield 
  • Szboszlai (6/10)  He has been Liverpool’s best player for much of the season. He did not stand out today, but he made no mistakes
  • Mac Allister (6/10) Nothing stood out, but a solid shift nonetheless
  • Jones (6/10) A solid outing
  • Ekitiké (10/10) Clearly the best player on the pitch today with a second straight brace in the EPL 
  • Gravenberch (7-10)  Garnered a big clearance in stoppage time 

The Substitutes

  • Mo Salah (8/10): Made a big impact after coming on in the 26th minute. Garnered an assist off of a corner, but was a bit too unselfish in front of goal.
  • Andy Robertson (6/10) Came on in the 80th minute to help see out the victory
  • Federico Chiesa (6/10) Late Sub. Did not see the pitch long enough to make a big impact.

Man of the Match

  • Ekitiké He is rounding into form at the right times for the Reds to make a push up the table as 2025 comes to a close

The Manager

  • Arne Slot (9/10):  The boss does not mind making changes and his adjustments today paid off. The three-man midfield created many chances for Ekitiké and others. Liverpool could have easily scored more.
