The game was open from the off with Haaland forcing an Alisson save in the opening minute. Liverpool took opportunities to employ a high press, but it gave City pockets of space when they were able to play out of the back. The momentum started to shift in the 25th minute as the Reds earned a pair of corners, but the match entered halftime scoreless.
Manchester City had the majority of chances and possession in the first half (see below). Liverpool are lucky not to have conceded. The Reds settled into the match around the half-hour mark, but they could only muster half-chances. We will see what adjustments Arne Slot will make in the second half.
