It's no surprise Jurgen Klopp looked to ease expectations in the build-up to the crunch clash, with the Reds boss insisting his side aren't in the title race at present given their inconsistent form of late.

Meanwhile, the visitors should be in confident mood to pick up their first win at Anfield since 2003, with last year's runners up putting together a run of 13 consecutive wins, including clean sheets in each of their last seven games.

Liverpool's injury woes were partially eased this week as Alisson, Fabinho and Sadio Mane all returned to training at Kirkby and the trio look set to come straight back into the side.
While Klopp opted to stick with a defensive pairing of Nathaniel Phillips and Jordan Henderson in midweek, new boys Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak will be hoping for their first Reds start after signing on deadline day. But it remains to be seen whether Klopp chooses to throw either of them in at the deep end.
Elsewhere, there could be a return for Naby Keita in the matchday squad after he trained during the week, whilst James Milner could make way for youngster Curtis Jones in the starting eleven.
