Fasika -

is the greatest goalkeeper in the world today.

That is certainly not up for question.

We are here to discuss the possibility of the Brazilian being the greatest goalkeeper in Liverpool's history.

Alongside the signings of and , Alisson is seen as one of the key arrivals at that brought upon Liverpool's greatest period of success since the 1980s.

A Premier League and triumph among a host of other trophies has been won during Alisson's tenure as Liverpool's number one and more could be on their way should the club conduct the business required to refresh the squad ahead of next season.

At just 30 years old, the Brazil keeper has many years ahead of him to continue writing his legacy in the Liverpool history books which could see him become even more of a legendary figure at the club than he already is.

Among the goalkeepers Liverpool have had since the Premier League inception in the 1992/93 season, Alisson is by far the most successful.

He led Liverpool to its only Premier League triumph in the 2019/20 season, a Champions League title a year before with a UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club , an and scattered throughout the five years he's been at the club.

Most of Liverpool's legendary goalkeepers including Ray Clemence and Bruce Grobbelaar pre-dated the Premier League era as Alisson Becker, , and Andy Lonergan became the only Liverpool goalkeepers in history to a Premier League.

While someone like Pepe Reina who won the Premier League Golden Glove three years in a row is one of the greatest Liverpool had between the sticks but won just one trophy with the club, the EFL Cup in 2012.

All-around influence on the team

Some goalkeepers are great shot-stoppers, some are great with the ball at their feet, while some are commanding presences in their box.

Alisson Becker is all three… and more.

He has 77 clean sheets in 168 league games for Liverpool and 100 clean sheets in 226 games in all competitions for the Merseyside club.

The Brazilian even contributes on the attacking side of the goal, as he became the only goalkeeper in Premier League history to score a winning goal when he netted a stoppage-time header in a 2-1 win against West Brom in 2021 in Liverpool's quest for Champions League football.

He's also contributed three assists in the Premier League during his time at the club, which perhaps makes him one of the greatest all-around keepers in league history.

Alisson continues to show his greatness in a Liverpool kit and sooner or later, this discussion will soon become true.
