Liverpool ran their unbeaten streak to 6 matches, holding off a determined Spurs side in North London 2-1. Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitiké scored to see the Reds move up to 5th place on the EPL Table. However, the win came at a cost as the Liverpool FC injury list continues to grow following a physical encounter.

Ekitiké Stays Hot

With his 5th goal in the last 3 matches, Ekitiké is now second in the EPL with 8 goals against the run of play this season. Manchester City's Erling Haaland holds the top spot.

“It wasn't our best game, a difficult game, but we had the control,” he told the BBC after the match. “It was difficult in the last part of the second half because they pushed and they scored. We kept the result and we go back to Liverpool with the win, that is the most important thing."

Injury Concerns

There are some fresh injury concerns for the Reds as Isak and Jeremie Frimpong, who were both subs in the second half, were forced off due to injury. Also Domonik Szoboszlai will miss the next EPL match at Wolves due to yellow card accumulation

“Alex (Isak) is not good,” he said. “Whenever a player scores and has to come off and does not even try to come back on it’s not good. Nothing medical to base that on, just a gut feeling. Conor Bradley also had to come off. He wanted to come back, but he could not go.Jeremie Frimpong is fine. Just a cut on the lip.”

Pleasing But Not Perfect

Liverpool had a seemingly insurmountable 2-0 lead and they were up a man, but the goal by Richarlison set up a nervy finish, reminiscent of the Leeds match.

“I am pleased with the three points and that we are even on points with the Top-4” Slot said. “At the beginning of the season, I was not completely thrilled with our play and then we were really disappointed with the run of results we had after that. We are not as bad as people have said though. We made so many changes over the summer, we knew it was going to be up and down. We started so well, people thought it was going to be easy, and it is not. We are not perfect, but it was a good result today.”
