Mohamed Salah and potential Liverpool transfer targets like Michael Olise and Yan Diomande.

By now, we all know that Mohamed Salah is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. While the club and supporters take these last few games to celebrate the contributions of the Egyptian king, it's also time to look forward and try to find a replacement to fill Salah’s boots.

Salah was a generational player, so whoever the Reds get to take his spot on the roster will not be the same, but they still need to lock down the services of a new right winger. Here are a few suggestions that have been made, although no official word has come from the club yet. regarding potential signings.

First Choices

  1. Michael Olise (Bayern Munich): Widely considered the "dream" successor due to his left-footed style and Premier League experience, though he could command a fee near €200m.
  2. Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig): A 19-year-old rising star with 11 goals and 7 assists this season. He is a top priority for his long-term potential.
  3. Iliman Ndiaye (Everton): A surprising but "serious" target identified for his Premier League acclimation and his skill with the ball at his feet.
  4. Bradley Barcola or Désiré Doué (PSG): Both young French wingers are on the shortlist, though PSG remains reluctant to sell.

Michael Olise would be the most like-for-like option out of this group, considering he is left-footed like Salah and has plenty of experience in the Premier League and other top leagues. The question is, will the breads be willing to pay the hefty price tag that is attached?  Given Liverpool's history of signing young players, Yan Diomande is the likely signing.

Other Options

  1. Anthony Gordon (Newcastle): Frequently linked as a versatile option who can operate across the front line.
  2. Nico Williams (Athletic Club): A top-level target with a competitive €90m release clause.
  3. Jarrod Bowen (West Ham): Viewed as a more attainable, "Premier League proven" replacement.

Liverpool are very familiar with each of these three players. The Reds' brass know what they can do because they see them all regularly in Premier League play. In the case of Nico Williams, he is a former Liverpool player, so it would be a natural fit. Liverpool could also decide not to go shopping in the transfer market and just let  Rio Ngumoha slide into Salah’s spot, but most supporters are clamouring for a splash signing this offseason.
