This year, supporters will not have to wait for the Champions League Final to see Liverpool face Real Madrid. This time it is happening in the as the Reds will look for a measure of revenge after a tough 1-0 loss in the 2022 Final.

For his part, Jürgen Klopp is excited about the draw.

“It is a really good . A really exciting draw,” the boss said after the fixtures were announced Monday. The games themselves are still a few months but it does not take a great deal of imagination to think what the atmosphere will be like at both games.”

Even though the clubs have a short history of matches with one another, when they meet on the pitch, the stakes always seem to be high. The two sides also faced off in the 2021 Quarterfinals and the 2018 Finals.

“I know we have played in a couple of recent finals,” Klopp said. “But it is not so often that our two clubs have met in a two-legged so now we can look forward to this happening.”

The matches will be played in February and March of . Kickoff times and TV coverage will be announced at a later date. We do know, however, that the first leg will be at Anfield, a fact that Klopp says will give the Reds a big advantage.

“Real's European record is the best around. We know this. But we also know that ours is not too bad. On top of this, we know that we have and everyone knows what this means.”

LFC Globe Verdict

Pundits were quick to point out that matchup-wise, Real Madrid is the worst possible draw for Liverpool. I don't see it that way Like Klopp, I think it's great. We as supporters get to see two matches between two giants of European football instead of just one and that's always a positive. So what if Liverpool have not won a match in the series since 2009? That would make a victory even sweeter and we have not one but two chances to get one or both What's not to love?
