Match Preview: Liverpool, Burnley Ready To Rumble On Boxing Day

Liverpool and Burnley may be at opposite ends of the table, but that does not mean that the Reds should not expect a tough test from the Clarets on Boxing Day.

Burnley Getting Better

Despite being in the relegation zone and Liverpool defeating them recently in the Carabao Cup, Jürgen Klopp knows that this will be a tough challenge. They are coming off a vs Fulham. Burnley have had trouble scoring this season as Wilson Odobert leads the squad in scoring with just 4 goals.

 “I think Burnley could have easily had much more points because they had so many good spells in the games where they then don't finish these situations off,” Klopp said. “Young players in some positions. In the moment they finish these situations off, they can win football games, definitely. It was very often that they were really good in the game and I respect Vinny [Kompany] a lot for [the fact that] he keeps pushing his idea through.”

Who Will Play Left Back?

Injuries to Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas have created the question. Since both are expected to be out for a long period with surgery and a broken collarbone, whoever Klopp chooses will have to play. is the most likely since he replaced Tsimikas vs Arsenal, but the Reds could also look for someone in the transfer window, which closes on February 1st.
