Liverpool and Leicester City meet for an important match Monday evening at King Power Stadium. The two clubs are heading in opposite directions as the Reds are in the thick of the battle for a Champions League spot after 6 straight wins while the Foxes have fallen below the relegation line.

Back To Where It All Started

This is not the first time Liverpool have played at King Power Stadium this season. The Reds defeated Manchester City 3-1 to win the Community Shield. Darwin Núñez, Mohammed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold found the back of the net for the Reds'. This match proved to be what has been a roller coaster season for Liverpool, but the Reds are finishing the campaign strongly.

Foxes Falling Down The Table

In the final match of , Liverpool defeated Leicester 2-1 thanks to a pair of own goals from Wout Faes. Things have mostly stayed the same for the club since then as Leicester have only won once in their past 6 matches.

That run of futility drops them below the relegation line, two points behind Everton. Midfielders Harvey Barns and James Maddison lead the Foxes with 12 and 10 goals respectively, so they can still be a dangerous side, especially when fighting to keep from dropping to the Championship.

One Goal Is Good Enough

Even though Liverpool are on a 6 match-winning streak, 5 of those victories have been by a single goal. Alisson also has a pair of clean sheets in the run, giving him 100 clean sheets for his career. The 18 straight points are nice, but they certainly did not come easily.

LFC Globe Verdict

This is the kind of late-season match you want to watch as a football fan. Both teams are desperate for a , Liverpool to move into the and to stay in the . That means both teams will battle their hardest for a full 90 minutes. Even though I fully expect the Foxes to put up a terrific fight, Liverpool's strong form to continue with a 2-1 win.
