Liverpool 2-2 Nottingham Forest Player Ratings: Muñoz & Isak Score at Anfield

LFC Globe
29th August 2026

In a back-and-forth game, Liverpool and Nottingham Forest had to settle for a 2-2 draw at Anfield. Alexander Isak and Victor Munoz found the back of the net, but the Reds will feel hard done by due to a goal being chalked off and the fact that Forest was awarded a soft penalty.

  • Alisson (5/10): Big stop just before half to keep the deficit at 1-0, but surrendered a controversial penalty
  • Van Dijk  (6/10): The backline was better today, and the captain was solid
  • Jacquet (7/10): Vital stops throughout the game
  • Kerkez  (5/10): Better than last week, but still not spectacular
  • Wirtz (5/10): Hard done to have hiave his goal chalked off, but a few giveaways
  • Szoboszlai (7/10):  Some nice passes, but teammates could not get on the end of them
  • Isak (6/10): Calm finish on the tap-in, but little other involvement
  • Gakpo (710):  Another strong match
  • Frimpong (5/10): Forgettable day on the pitch
  • Mac Allister  (510): Name barely called
  • Munoz (8/10): Some bright moments, but showed his youth in others. Beautiful goal

Substitutes

  • Tsimikas (6/10): A few touches going forward
  • Ngumoha (7/10): A bright spark coming off the bench
  • Araujo (7/10): Big stops to help preserve the draw
  • Gravenberch (6/10): Was involved in the buildup as Liverpool were looking for a late winner
  • Nyoni (5/10): Late sub, no impact

Man of the Match

Munoz

The Manager

  • Andoni Iraola (5/10): Liverpool again played better in the second half, but the boss needs to get that kind of effort for his club for a full 90

LFC Globe Verdict

A 2-2 draw is not good enough for Liverpool. To be fair, all of this was not their doing, as Wirtz had a goal chalked off due to a narrow offside, and Alisson was called for a foul in the box that the referee should have let go. It’s a better performance in my opinion, but not good enough.

  1. I think your player ratings are remotely correct. Wirtz played lot better to get a 5. Wirtz actually better than Szoboslai. Trey Nyoni impacted the game largely. He's a better defensive midfielder than Szoboslai. Szoboslai played much better at right back
