Liverpool FC Role & Tactical Profile
Dominik Szoboszlai is part of Liverpool’s 2026/27 squad under head coach Andoni Iraola. This profile brings together the player’s career background, an editorial assessment of the role and the live facts maintained across LFC Globe’s squad directory.
Szoboszlai offers a midfield profile in which running power and attacking technique need to work together. A forward movement can open a passing lane for another player even when it does not lead to a shot. Equally, pressing is effective only when the rest of the team can support the first challenge. His contribution is therefore worth assessing through movement between midfield and attack, the recovery work after possession is lost and the quality of decisions around the penalty area.
Career Background & 2026/27 Outlook
The Hungary international joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in July 2023 after a spell that included two German Cup successes. His earlier development included Salzburg and Liefering. Liverpool’s official profile records his involvement in the 2024/25 Premier League title and his subsequent recognition as the club’s 2025/26 player of the season. He signed a new long-term agreement in summer 2026 and was named among Iraola’s vice-captains. The contract table provides the separately maintained current reported term.
The tables above update separately from this career overview. They distinguish current Premier League involvement, reported contract terms and sourced availability, allowing the season to be followed without confusing a squad listing with confirmation of selection for the next fixture.
