Liverpool put their 4-0 defeat against Man City to one side as they earned a hard-fought three points against Aston Villa in their last outing over the weekend.

It was far from vintage Liverpool, but they got the job done again as they took their unbeaten home run to a staggering 57 games.

While the Champions have made it a habit to find a way to win at home, they have failed to score – let alone win – any of their last five away games in all competitions, losing four times.

But the Reds will be looking to get back to winning ways on the road as they take on Graham Potter’s Brighton on Wednesday evening, with the Seagulls having lost their last five games against Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp asked his side to be “patient” but “lively” as they look to end their poor away run and set sights on the record Premier League points tally.
