All the best photos from Liverpool’s Champions League last-16 first leg against Bayern Munich as the Reds were held to a goalless draw.
The Reds returned to action after a ten-day break as they took on Niko Kovac’s side under the lights at Anfield.
The fixture was billed to be full of goals, however both sides ultimately settled for a 0-0 draw.
Speaking after the game, Jurgen Klopp admitted the game didn’t pan out how he expected it to: “It’s not the result or the game we dreamed of. Not really a lot of things happened in the game but it was an intense one. You saw the respect both teams had for each other.”
The Reds travel to the Allianz Arena for the second leg in three weeks time, with a score draw enough to qualify on away goals.
Whilst the result wasn’t ideal, Liverpool remain in a good position to qualify for the next round, so long as they overcome their difficulties away in Europe this season.
