Jurgen Klopp's side are back in action after an enforced pause owing to a COVID-19 outbreak within the squad at Kirkby that saw them postpone midweek's Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg clash against Arsenal.
The Reds host League One side Shrewsbury on Sunday afternoon, with the 14th-placed side in the third-tier of English football looking to cause an upset on Merseyside.
The two sides last met in the FA Cup less than two years ago, with Shrewsbury forcing a fourth-round replay at Anfield which ultimately finished the way of a youthful Reds side managed by Neil Critchley.
Whilst assistant manager Peter Krawietz held the Reds' pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp is expected back on the touchline after recovering from a positive COVID-19 test earlier in the week.
It's poised to be an intriguing tie at Anfield with a good opportunity to see a number of academy players get minutes alongside a handful of senior stars in a competitive fixture.

It's not yet known which or how many Liverpool players are currently self-isolating, however, Krawietz made it clear the Reds would be forced to make a number of changes as they rely on their youth players to plug the gaps.
The likes of Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas, Fabinho, Roberto Firmino and Takumi Minamino are expected to play some part from the senior squad.
Meanwhile, there could be minutes for the likes of youngsters Tyler Morton, Elijah Dixon-Bonner, James Balagiz, Kaide Gordon and Max Woltman, amongst others.
