All the best photos from Istanbul as Liverpool edged Chelsea on penalties to win the UEFA Super Cup final on Wednesday.
Jurgen Klopp made five changes to his side from the starting eleven that faced Norwich as the likes of Adrian, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Joel Matip and Sadio Mane earned a start.
The Reds looked lacklustre in the opening 45 minutes and found themselves behind after Olivier Giroud gave Chelsea the lead.
A rejuvenated Liverpool, with substitute Firmino, looked threatening after the break and got their reward via Mane, who got on the end of the Brazilian’s prod from close-range.
Both sides looked fatigued in the latter stages, taking the game to extra-time before Mane popped up once more with a fine finish from Firmino’s second assist of the game.
Adrian then brought down Tammy Abraham in the box, allowing Jorginho to equalise from the spot and send the game to penalties.
The Reds, who had already lost a penalty shoot-out to Manchester City in the Community Shield earlier this month, made no mistake this time around – converting all five of their spot-kicks.
Chelsea were equally robust with their penalties, although Adrian got in the way of Abraham’s decisive kick to give Liverpool victory and win them their fourth UEFA Super Cup.
