Mohammed Salah has scored in the three previous matches with the Citizens so far this season: The , The Comunity Shield and the Carabao Cup. Should he score again, Salah would Sir Kenny Dalglish and Gordon Hodgson with 11 goals vs . Ian Rush has the most in the Reds' history with 15.

Sitting Pretty In The City

Manchester City are enjoying a strong season in -23. They sit 2nd on the table with 61 points thanks to the goal-scoring exploits of Norweigin Erling Haaland. The striker has a jaw-dropping 42 goals this season, 28 in the Premier League. If Halland continues at his current pace, he will score over 60 total goals this season, a remarkable accomplishment at any level of club football. Liverpool did keep Haaland off of the scoresheet in a 1-0 win back on October 16th and they will likely have to do so again to gain another

Injury Update

Much as it has been all season, injury news for the Reds is a mixture of good and bad. Luis Díaz has been injured most of the season since the Arsenal match, but he is back in training with the club, While Díaz should return soon, Jürgen Klopp has ruled him out in the matchup with Manchester City. Darwin Núñez has been cleared to play, but Naby Keïta was injured after scoring for Guinea and will be unavailable. The status of the other injured Reds remains unchanged.

LFC Globe Verdict

Liverpool have not played since a surprising loss to Bournemouth on March 11th. While City are certainly a more formidable team on paper, the Reds always seem to play better against tougher competition. With a in hand over the Citizens, it is plausible that the Reds will pull off a big win. They certainly need to, because a loss could drop them all the way to 9th on the table and make the climb to a potential Top-4 spot even more difficult. I think Salah scores, but Haaland and his teammates prove too tough as the Reds fall 2-1.
