Despite being outplayed for much of the game, Liverpool entered the locker room with a 1-0 lead over Tottenham, thanks to an Alexis Mac Allister goal.

Both teams spent the first five minutes. Liverpool cleared a corner moments later as the Reds had trouble holding possession. Mamardashvili made a kick save in the 11th minute to keep the match level.

Liverpool’s first chance came from Lewis Koumas, but it was saved. The breakthrough came in the  21st minute when Rio Ngumoha played a ball back to Alexis Mac Allister, who finished from the top of the box for a 1-0 lead.

Even with the lead, Liverpool allowed Spurs to boss the game. The Reds earned a corner in the 35th and 37th minutes as they grew into the game at halftime with a 1-0 lead

LFC Globe Verdict

Alexis Mac Allister scored a wonderful goal, and that covers Liverpool’s struggles in other areas, such as holding onto possession or giving the ball away too easily. If they can clean that up, Liverpool should advance to the next round.
