Following on from last season’s European high, Liverpool are back in action on Sunday afternoon as they look to kick off their 2019/20 season by clinching another trophy.

Manchester City ran out as league and FA Cup winners last season, meaning top-flight runners-up Liverpool take part in their first Community Shield since 2006.

The Reds have had somewhat of a mixed pre-season, although manager Jurgen Klopp has – sensibly – argued that it would be unusual for his players to peak in July rather than “September or October.”

It promises to be a captivating afternoon of football in London, with the hope that Liverpool can win their second trophy in just over two months.
