Alexis Mac Allister scored a screamer from the top of the box in the 50th minute, and that proved to be the game-winner as Liverpool got their Champions League campaign off to a strong start with a 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid.

- Araújo (6/10): Beautiful backheel to set up Szoboszlai strike
- Mac Allister (7/10): Was caught out of position on Atletico’s opening goal, but redeemed himself with a wonder strike
- Ngumoha (6/10): Some fancy footwork, but had poor touches at other times.

LFC Globe Verdict
This was a strong start to the Champions League campaign for the Reds. The injuries to Cody Gakpo and Barcola are concerning, but Liverpool do have some depth at those spots, and they are hopefully minor anyway.
